Please send reports of publications, forthcoming publications, debates or other apologetics events you have participated in (or are planning, so we can pray for them with your), short reviews of apologetics-related books, etc. to me at dtw@tfc.edu. Second, our spring ISCA meeting is rapidly approaching. It will be April 10-11 at Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, NC. The theme is “Inerrancy and Evangelical Identity.” We have a great lineup of plenary speakers: Paige Patterson, Richard Land, and Sarah Geis! We also need some of you to provide papers for parallel sessions. The deadline for paper proposals is Feb. 15. Please send me your name, degrees, and a short abstract of the paper you would like to present. And watch the website for registration information, coming soon!
Third, we put together a survey for our membership to assess the possible formation of local ISCA chapters. We do hope you take the time to send us feedback.

We did not receive enough material to do a January edition of Apologia, the ISCA newsletter. We are therefore going to shift the schedule for it from bimonthly to quarterly. The next edition will be March, 2015, and the deadline for submissions is March 1. Please send reports of new or forthcoming publications, debates or other apologetic events you have participated in (or ones that are upcoming that we can pray about), short reviews of apologetics-related books, etc., to Don Williams at dtw@tfc.edu.
Meanwhile, the most important news is our upcoming annual conference at Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, NC, April 10-11, 2015. The theme will be “Inerrancy and Evangelical Identity.” Papers on other topics of apologetic interest are also welcome. Greetings! As the journal editor for the International Society of Christian Apologetics, I want to remind all of you that the due date for journal articles is January 1st, 2015.
We are interested in articles on issues related to apologetics (e.g., biblical studies, philosophy, systematics, etc). If you have an article you would like to publish an article, please submit it according to the following guidelines:
1. The article should be between 20-40 pages long.
2. The article should be your final copy. Articles requiring extensive editing will not be accepted.
3. All articles should be submitted Turabian formatting in 12 point font.

Dear Friends,
My name is Don Williams. I was just elected president of the International Society of Christian Apologetics (ISCA) at our recent meeting in Denver. I’d like to introduce myself, tell you a little about my plans for the society, and encourage you to join or renew your membership.
I am the R. A. Forrest Scholar at Toccoa Falls College and an internationally recognized Inklings scholar with advanced degrees in both Theology and Medieval/Renaissance Literature. Most of my work has been done at the “Four Corners” where the borders of Apologetics, Theology, Philosophy, and Literature meet. My recent books include Mere Humanity: G. K. Chesterton, C. S. Lewis, and J. R. R. Tolkien on the Human Condition (Nashville: Broadman, 2006), Inklings of Reality: Essays toward a Christian Philosophy of Letters (Lynchburg: Lantern Hollow Press, 2012), and Reflections from Plato’s Cave: Essays in Evangelical Philosophy (Lynchburg: Lantern Hollow Press, 2013). I’ve also written a number of apologetics-related articles, such as “Lacking, Ludicrous, or Logical? The Validity of Lewis’s ‘Trilemma,’” Midwestern Journal of Theology 11:1 (Spring 2012): 91-102. An ordained minister in the Evangelical Free Church of America, I aspire to do apologetics that combines logical and academic rigor with a pastor’s heart. I’ve spent a number of summers training local pastors in Uganda and Kenya for Church Planting International, and plan to do the same in India this summer.
I think the ISCA meets a critical need as a place where conservative Evangelical scholars from various disciplines can join together to hone our skills and encourage one another in the increasingly crucial task of defending and proclaiming the faith once delivered to the saints. We do this through hosting an annual apologetics conference and publishing an online journal. The next conference will be in Charlotte, NC, April 10-11, 2015, with the theme of “Evangelical Identity and the Word of God.” (Papers on the theme are encouraged, but papers on any apologetically relevant topic are welcome.) I know that those who have attended the last few meetings have been enthusiastic about how much they enjoyed the stimulation and the fellowship. I also plan to help our members stay in touch by starting a monthly e-newsletter in which we can share the opportunities the Lord is giving us along with shorter essays and book notices.
Most of you who are getting this letter have been part of ISCA in the past. Many of you have not kept up with your membership or are behind in your dues ($30.00 per year for full members, $20.00 for student members). Let me appeal to you to join or re-join or renew your membership by going to our website, http://www.isca-apologetics.org/ , and clicking on the appropriate links. Believe me, it will make a real difference in our ability to pursue our goals as outlined above. If you share those goals, let me encourage you to consider making a financial donation to ISCA. And definitely put next year’s conference dates on your calendar! We are very excited about the upcoming conference on April 4th-6th, 2014 at Calvary Chapel South Denver, 9052 W. Ken Caryl Ave., Littleton, CO 80128.
We invite all members and prospective members to submit paper proposals for this year's conference. Presenters are encouraged to consider topics pertaining to our theme, "Apologetics and the Family" With the traditional biblical concept of the family under increasing attack, we need to learn to present it in a positive light to a culture that has largely forgotten it and is increasingly prejudiced against it. However, the conference is not limited to dealing with this topic alone. Paper proposals may be accepted from areas within philosophy, theology, biblical studies, ethics, comparative religion, science, and history.
The minimum requirements for presenters are:
1. They must have paid their dues for membership in the Society.
2. They must have a Master's degree to present a paper. Or, they must co-present a paper with a person that has a Master's degree or higher.
3. They must submit prior to their paper being accepted: 1) A clear thesis statement; 2) Title of the paper; 3) Abstract for the paper.
4. Topics relative to the theme are encouraged, but other topics will be considered.
All paper proposals should be submitted to Donald T. Williams, dtw@tfc.edu, no later than February 15, 2014. Please include your title, 100-200 word abstract, list of earned degrees, and membership status.
Please note that all presenters will need to register for the conference and either renew their annual fees or join the society if not already a member. Information for paying membership dues can be found on the front page of our website (www.isca-apologetics.org).
