2020 ISCA Registration is Now Open

Greetings!

I hope and pray each of you had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. As we look forward to the new year we are preparing for our 2020 ISCA Conference New Hope Community Church in Palatine, IL.

We are proud to partner with EMNR again and announce that we have some new speakers this year, including Dr. Tom Ascol, Dr. James Bjornstad, Marcia Montenegro, and James Pittman, Jr.

We are going to address two big topics this year: Critical Theory and the Enneagram. Many people today are unfamiliar with these ideologies and movements. Therefore, we are going to explain both their draw and their danger. In fact, these two movements might very present evangelicalism one of the most subtle, and yet notorious, attacks to the gospel in our lifetime. So, please make sure you try to attend this year's conference.

For more information and to register for the conference, please go to the EMNR website. There you will find information about how to register, hotel registration, and a schedule for the conference that include plenary sessions and breakout sessions.

Writing opportunity for The Evangelical Review of Theology and Politics

Greetings ISCA Members,

The JISCA got a request from The Evangelical Review of Theology and Politics (ERTP.org) this week, and I wanted to share the opportunity with our membership. ERTP desires for a writer willing to defend the traditional view of human sexuality as found in Scripture in an article-based debate with a scholar who believes that Scripture supports LGBTQ sexuality. The focus of the debate will be on Scripture and its interpretation/application. Interested individuals should contact Stephen M. Vantassel at svantassel@kingsdivinity.org.

I did ask Stephen three questions this week that were likely to get repeated in inquiries, and those are below with his answers.

1. Is there a deadline on when interested parties need to contact you?
We would like writers to contact me in a few months. First paper should be received in a year.

2. How long do the papers need to be?
We have a generous word counts. 5000-8000 words should cover the narrowness of the topic.

3. How many papers are you thinking each debater will have to write?
First a position paper than responses. But we could allow a third if the authors wished.

Under His Grace,
Jason D. Crowder

Journal Editor/Program Chairman

2018 ISCA Journal

Greetings ISCA members,

I pray this email finds each of you doing well as you serve the Lord in your particular ministry. I am writing to announce that our 2018 Journal of the International Society of Christian Apologetics (JISCA) is finished. I want you to note a few things about the 2018 JISCA.

First, I want to thank our editor, Dr. Doug Potter from Southern Evangelical Seminary, for his hard work and commitment to serving ISCA and the evangelical church. As many of you might know, it is hard work to serve as an editor. You are required to sort through and evaluate dozens of submissions and edit those articles into the proper format. Dr. Potter has done a great job in this role and we are thankful for his efforts.

Second, we have made some very exciting changes to JISCA. In particular, we have found a cost effective way to distribute and print the journal. Dr. Potter has worked to set up a format that allows us to print on demand through Amazon. So, if you are interested in receiving a print version of the 2018 JISCA, please follow the link (here).

Third, if you are a member of ISCA, you can login to your account and view a free online PDF version of the current and past editions of the journal.

Fourth, we would encourage each member of ISCA to consider writing an article or book review for the 2019 JISCA. For further information about publishing in JISCA, please contact Dr. Potter at dpotter@ses.edu

Last but not least, we are in the midst of planning our 2019 ISCA Conference. We plan to announce our next location and plenary speakers very soon.

Blessings in Christ,

William C. Roach
